Why Spain?

Hi, I´m Linda and I am an American who is recovering from the Bush years, the Crisis, and the lack of Nestle´s chocolate chips in Spain. I think that I am in Spain as a result of my California history classes about Father Junípero Serra (Menorquín) and his crusade to save the heathens in Alta California by constructing a bijillion missions along the famous Route 1, which he liked to call, El Camino Real.
I am definitely a risk taker and at the ripened age of 50 plus, I decided to move to the Canary Islands, retire, and dedicate my life to painting. That lasted a month until boredom and the lack of the ability to speak Spanish forced me to leave my fantasy world brought on by paint fumes and too many Aretha Franklin CD´s. I taught English classes, I attended Spanish classes, and I transplanted myself to Barcelona to become the next Frida Kahlo, too many paint fumes!
Never afraid of something new, once in Barcelona I sent my CV to all of the universities with MBA programs in English. To my surprise those years of attending graduate school in the United States paid off and I had the wonderful opportunity to teach marketing classes at Pompeu Fabra, ESEI, ESEC and Istituto Europeo di Design. For me this opportunity has been nothing less than luck mixed with the desire to be able to combine my artistic talent with my knowledge of business!
